Lauren Rakolta

Lauren Rakolta - President & CEO

Lauren Rakolta is President and Chief Executive Officer of DFM Solutions.  She purchased the majority ownership of DFM Solutions in 2015, bringing more than 15 years of industrial facilities and construction industry leadership and executive management experience to her role with the company.  Lauren also has extensive experience as a strategic consultant to political and legislative clients and has successfully served on numerous statewide and congressional campaigns for elected officials.

Lauren recruited and leads the DFM Solutions executive leadership team; together they have created a vision of operational excellence, adaptable and proactive customer service, and customer-oriented labor strategies. Lauren is passionate about driving this vision in all areas of DFM Solutions' operations to deliver world-class facilities and maintenance services to our customers.

Lauren graduated from Florida Atlantic University earning her Bachelor of Arts degree and is currently enrolled in the Harvard Business School Executive Education program working towards her Master’s in Business Administration. She is a member of several boards including: Merrill Lynch National Client Advisory Board, Great Lakes Women’s Business Council and the State of Michigan Children’s Trust Fund (Gubernatorial appointee). Lauren is also an active member of several organizations including the Motor City Chapter of Young Presidents Organization (YPO), National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), and International Facility Management Association (IFMA).

Brian Tyler

Brian Tyler - General Manager

Brian Tyler is the General Manager for DFM Solutions. He brings more than 33 years of machine tool, automated robotic system management, and facility management experience to his role with the company. He is a results-driven, experienced leader who was part of the original DFM Solutions leadership team at the time the company was started in 2007. 

Brian has a proven record of excellence in customer service with significant improvement of operational metrics and increased employee commitment. 

Brian values the roles of open communication, transparency, and teamwork as integral components of successful business outcomes and customer relations. He believes that a company culture of safe practices ensures the highest success for employees and customers alike. 

Brian brings with him the expertise from working his way up through the ranks, starting as a toolmaker, working as a foreman, plant manager, director of service, and general manager. He holds several industry certifications and is experienced with the development of procedures, performance management, and implementation of ISO/QS/TE-9000/Six Sigma processes, procedures, and safety protocols—making him an invaluable asset to lead the DFM Solutions team.

John Starkweather

John Starkweather - Director of Strategic Planning and Technology

John Starkweather is the Director of Strategic Planning/Organizational Development for DFM Solutions.  He brings more than 24 years of industrial manufacturing experience including installation, construction, maintenance, team building and leadership to his role with the company. 

John is part of the DFM Solutions Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for the growth and development of our continually-improving technical services—leading people services, finance, and diversity teams. John strategically adjusts departments’ activities, policies, and practices to meet or exceed key performance metrics and customer satisfaction goals.

In 2015, John earned his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology and Management from Ferris State University, where he graduated with honors. He has an extensive background in both electrical and mechanical fields, completed a Millwright apprenticeship, holds several certifications relevant to field operations, and drives continuous improvement.


Richard Shipton - Director of Business Development

Richard Shipton is the Director of Business Development for DFM Solutions. He brings more than 30 thirty years of industrial manufacturing and industrial facility management experience to his role with the company. He is customer-focused and is a major contributor in developing innovative facility management and maintenance solutions during the RFP process to best serve our customers’ needs. 

As part of Richard’s role, he leads the team in developing qualifications packages, proposals, and contract renewals, and provides resource support for transitions/launches, operations, and special projects. He is focused on creating growth within the DFM Solutions integrated facility management business, with new and existing customers in all market sectors.

Richard was part the original DFM Solutions leadership team at the time the company’s inception in 2007, providing him with an excellent understanding of our company’s history and experience. He has gained additional experience in the role of Executive Lead of Facilities Management business for an environmental services firm. Richard also held the position of Director of Global Industrial Facilities Management for a large international corporation, managing multiple international accounts prior to his return to DFM Solutions in 2018. 

Richard brings with him the expertise from his education in the United Kingdom, obtaining his ONC & HNC in mechanical engineering. He is also a certified Six Sigma Green Belt and a current IFMA member. Richard’s knowledge and expertise make him an excellent fit to best serve our customers and drive the DFM Solutions team toward success.
